Sorry that it's been so long!

Sorry that it has been so long since my last update, but I am just ordering a new lens for my camera today! Hopefully that will mean I am going to start posting again more frequently. I'll also be getting a new phone with better video recording capabilities soon, so I will try posting videos more often as well!

Kitties, kitties everywhere...

It has been a while since I last updated. A few things have happened since I last posted that have been setbacks to my postings.

First of all, the hard drive from my laptop has apparently died. We have tried quite a few things and eventually ended up removing it from the laptop, buying it it's own external casing, and hooking it up to our desktop. Despite (mainly Nigel's) efforts, all we can get is a clicking sound.

He then looked into how much data recovery costs, which was very disappointing news as well. After an initial 60$ or so fee, the cost can be into the thousands to retrieve lost data and the cost is based on the number of files that need to be recovered.

Anyway, what that means is that years (5?) of photos are now lost. Everything since I've owned a DSLR. All the originals, anyway.  As well as anything that I don't have uploaded somewhere. It's left me kind of devastated. 




Not too long after I realized that my hard drive died, my camera fell over and the lens is now jammed. I can still use it, but only zoomed in as far as it will go... It won't twist back the other direction. Now while it's still usable, this limits me to only being able to take photos in very good light. The shutter speed needed to take a nice photo in lower light when the lens is zoomed in is much greater. Additionally, I have to compensate my position for the camera constantly being fully zoomed. 


Basically I've been taking (poor quality) cell phone pictures of the cats. I have been trying to use Nigel's phone since it takes much better pictures, but when he's not around my cell phone is what I rely on, and it seems like the quality just keeps going downhill with it.


I will try to keep things as updated as possible with photos, even if it means posting cell phone shots. But until I get my camera lens either fixed or replaced, it's kind of just sad trying to use it.

Sorry that it's been so long!

It's been a while since I've made a post in here!
Poor Dexter's eyes have been acting up again. We took him to the vet to get some staining done and it doesn't look like there's any kind of abrasions or cuts on the eye. Waiting to hear back from an eye specialist that my vet contacted to see where to take it. For now we are just giving him ointment every 6 hours.

More kitty lovin'

Some new photos of the kitties today! I was just looking back at old pictures of Dexter from when he first came to live with me about two or so months ago, and comparing his fur length to now! I'm excited, it's noticeably longer now! Still nowhere near his full fluffy glory, but it's progress!

Silly kitties.

We are still working on getting everything unpacked at our new place here.
When I got out of the shower today, Ruby was in the bathroom which is something that almost never happens.

You see, each day Dexter usually greets Nigel after he's had a shower in the bathroom with by jumping on the toilet and meowing at him.
Ruby, I think, got chased into the bathroom by Dexter while I was having a shower, and ended up jumping up onto the sink counter. Dexter then came in and jumped up onto the water tank, so I had both kitties creeping on me while I dried off. Cutie pies.

Yep, we got our own domain name for the site. I am hoping to get more videos uploaded soon, but for now here's one of dexter breaking into a box!

There have been a lack of posts in here as of late. We moved on the 30th of April and are just starting to get unpacked and settled in a little bit more. Still lots of boxes left before we're fully unpacked, but we're making progress. Anyway, I was able to snap a few photos tonight of Dexter being cute!

April 24, My birthday!

So today is my birthday. The big 25. I look forward to some good dinner and company, and some black forest cake afterwards! I woke up today to some daffodils from my wonderful boyfriend.




But, since this is a kitty blog... Onto the pictures!

Both kitties are both fascinated with going into the cupboard right now as we are packing to move. When I leave them open in the kitchen, they'll both run into them. Dexter has a new box that he is playing with that should be way too small for him, but he somehow makes it work. I'll work on grabbing a photo of him in it soon.
